Obsessed.

Lately, Elliott seems more and more attached to Buzz-Buzz.

It seems like she's always dragging one (or two, or all three!) of these bee blankets around.
I don't mind, I guess. I mean, I'm the one who wanted her to have a security blanket in the first place.
I don't remember having a "lovie" or comfort item when I was younger, and I thought it would be cute if Ellie did. Silly reason, I know! But, it has also taken the place of many other items that babies tend to become attached to: bottles, pacifiers, etc.

I don't mind at all that she carries this nasty, stinky bee blanket with us everywhere if it means I never have to wean her off of a pacifier!
Speaking of stink.....these things wreak!
I try to wash them on a regular basis, but still! The stench has calmed down a bit since we cut out formula a few months ago, but I still hate to think about the germs and nastiness that infests these blankies.....especially when she buries her face in them as she's falling asleep.

It seems as if she needs at least one friend with her whether she's playing.....

or eating.....

or shopping....

or riding in the car.....

and especially at bedtime......

I know there will come a day when she will leave Buzz-Buzz at home (her first day of kindergarten) and there will even come a night when she doesn't need his silky softness to help her drift off to sleep (her freshman year of college).....and I won't dread that blanket's stinkiness anymore. I'll hold it close to my face and breathe it in.
Her babyhood. Her sweet, sweet childhood that slips away much too quickly.

I wanted Adelynn to have a security blanket as well, but she has not taken on the idea. Which, of course, is fine with me. I had one growing up, actually, I still have stored away.

Ellie is so sweet with her little bee blankets!

My son has no interest in any sort of lovey, which surprises me since I still have my blankie from when I was little.

stella has become a lot more attached to dino lately too, sometimes she literally just cries for him...maybe it is from the surgery. she isn't so lucky though, haha we don't really allow him out of the house ;)

LOVE it!!! Isla is in love with her two blankies! I always have one in the wash and I try to leave it in the car because I'm a HUGE germ phobe. lol

Awe! She is too cute with her buzz buzzes. Your freshman year of college comment reminds me of my baby sister who is 18 and she had 3 of those thermal blankies growing up. They were holy and she still has one of them stuffed in her pillowcase. Maybe buzz buzz will be peaking out of a pillowcase down the road.

Aww, like I said - my kids don't have lovies and it makes me sad!

This is beyond adorable!!! Our seven year old STILL sleeps with her lovey. Everyone tells me we should take it from her but I honestly don't see anything wrong with her sleeping with something she takes comfort in. Your daughter is beautiful!
