My Week in iPhone Pics

Well, hello there! It's been quite a week around here! 

I'm not really even sure what happened, but somehow blogging completely moved to the back-burner this week. I've been tired, a little sick, and overall just busy with life! I'm currently laying low and staying warm on this St. Patrick's Day, with my belly full of an Olive Garden soup knock-off involving kale, potatoes, and sausage. 

My tribute to the Irish. Or something like that ;)

Anyways, while I may have been absent from this little blog for most of the week, I didn't slack on taking cell phone pictures. Here's what our week looked like:

 Ellie was really too cute for words this week. In the car, she tried to convince me that puppies say "cockadoodledoo"!

The sun came out for about 2.2 seconds. We enjoyed every minute second of it.

 What? You don't eat strawberries topped with cool whip and watch Jersey Shore by yourself on Thursday nights?!

Snacks. Like a boss.

My Week in iPhone Pics

I swear sometimes the weeks just fly by! And then other times, they don't. Ha!
This week actually did fly by, which is great because I was more than ready for the weekend!

While I'm soaking up some weekend fun with my family, here's a look back at our week, via iPhone pics:

MONDAY

Monday isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be......or maybe that's just because I have Mondays off? Anywho, our Monday was fun and laid-back.....cute pig-tails, a healthy mommy lunch during naptime, and a toddler who's growing SO fast!

TUESDAY

Tuesdays make me understand why people hate Mondays :) It was back to work (for me) and the babysitter's house (for Ellie), so we fancied up E's hair just a bit to make our day a little brighter. Little did I know I'd be caught in a blizzard by the time I got to work! It was all okay.....the snow was so pretty, and it melted within a few hours. Ellie must have had a good day, since she was being a cheese ball in the bath tub.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesdays are always a LONG day for me. Wake up with the toddler, get ready, take her to the babysitter's, go to work, pick her up after work, scramble around to make dinner, put the toddler to bed.......than I pass out on the couch while waiting for Scott to get home. I tried to make the best of it this week and I painted Ellie's nails. She's been asking for it almost every day, so I finally treated her to a little manicure. She's obsessed. Also on Wednesday, I was playing around with my phone and found my new favorite way to record recipes that I like or want to try.....I take a snapshot on my phone of the recipe, whether it's on a website or a blog, etc. Why didn't I think of this sooner?!

Thursday

More recipes "pinned" on my phone. See? I'm a little obsessed with snapping photos of new recipes.....I saved this one and made it on Friday. It was delicious! And since Thursday is really my Friday, we celebrated with some take-out Teriyaki, Poor Scott had to share with Ellie :) And a sleeping babe is always the best way to top off a Thursday night, right?

Friday

Friday began with Ellie's newest book craze, Skippyjon Jones. I'm not gonna lie, I love that little cat/chihuahua just as much as Ellie does! Our day continued with some shopping and lunch at my work with friends, which clearly wore Ellie out......she fell asleep with a sucker in her mouth! That didn't last long though, because once we were home she decided she didn't actually need a nap. Hmmmm. Instead, Elliott danced around in her new bathing suit and stole bites of my Cadbury Egg. I guess there are worse things in life.

I just played this fun little game not too long ago, but Mandy (at A Sorta Fairytale) tagged me and I just couldn't resist! I don't talk about myself a ton on this blog, so sometimes it's nice to share just a little bit about me! :)

1. I love cheese and pickle sandwiches (my mom taught me to love these, and now I crave them often!)


2. I hate to work out or exercise.


3. I love horses. Like, I used to be borderline obsessed. I still would drop everything and take a job as a horse trainer or even a stable-hand if the opportunity arose!


4. My dog, Rosco, was my birthday present from my parents when I was 16.....he's still alive and kicking, and is such a loyal dog.


5. I have baby fever like whoa!


6. I'm obsessed with tv.....specifically trashy "reality" tv shows. The farther from reality, the better!


7. I hate doing the dishes. I don't mind the rest of the housework, but dishes are the worst!


8. I am coming to terms with the fact that I have slight anxiety/depression/OCD issues. They are very slight in the grand scheme of things, but it helps if I acknowledge it and deal with these issues head-on.


9. Scott and I bought our home when we were pretty young (25 ish). While sometimes it's difficult, I'm proud of what we've accomplished so far, and I kind of want to keep this house forever (even after we outgrow it).


10. I LOVE sleep, but since having a baby I have found it impossible to nap. There's always something I feel that I should be doing......it's quite exhausting, to be honest!


11. I have my Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences (really not good for anything unless I got my Master's.....)




AND, here are Mandy's questions for me, and my answers:


1. What's the most interesting thing you have ever done? I'm really not a super interesting person.....but last year I did the Warrior Dash. It's a 5K race with mud and obstacles along the way. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time!

2. How much time every day do you spend on the internet? (be honest people!) :) Probably way more than I would like to even say! If you count being on Facebook and all the other fun apps on my phone, I would have to say roughly 26 hours a day! ;)

3. What are some of your favorite blogs? SO Many!! I like reading really personal stuff (not in a creepy way), so a lot of smaller blogs, and the blogs that my close friends or family write are my favorites!

4. If you had to eat at the same restaurant every day for a month, where would you choose? Um, that's a tough one! Probably Red Robin. I love eating there, and they have a pretty good variety of foods, so I'm sure it would hold me over for a month :)

5. Who do you really look up to and admire? My mom! I've talked about her before, but she's seriously one of my best friends, and a great role model. If I can learn to care for and about others the way that she does, I will be a happy, happy lady!

6. If you could live anywhere in the world besides your current location, where would that be? I've never really had any desire to move anywhere else since I have so much family around me. If I had to choose somewhere else, I guess it would be California. It's warmer, but not too warm.....and I've heard that people are just really nice there! 

7. How do you feel about reality shows? I think you already know how I feel.....LOVE THEM!

8. How would you describe your style? Hmmmm. Clothing style? I would say contemporary, modest, and classic. I like to wear things that won't go out of style in 10 minutes, and throw in some cheap/easy accessories or other clothing items that are new and hip. Also? I will always be a sweatshirt and jeans type of girl!

9. Where do you see yourself & your family in 10 years? Oy! Hopefully with one or two more kiddos.....living in a bigger house somewhere not too far from here (in a good school district). Happily married, able to take vacations, and enjoying life. I may or may not go back to school eventually, so maybe I would be working on my Master's degree?
 
10. Favorite dessert? Ice cream! I love love love ice cream and would eat it every night if my waistline would allow it ;)

11. What is your most valued possession? (kids don't count) I would have to say my wedding ring. I don't have a whole lot of "things" that I value or pride myself on. My ring means more to me than anything else that I own.

Our week consisted of: sleeping with her hand in the goldfish bag, freezer smoothie prep, Elliott's pants are still a wee bit too big, pig tails to-die for, vintage cutie, new plates made of recycled milk jugs!, bathing beauty, workin' around the house, I got to sleep in!!!, the perfect grilled cheese, fro-yo, grocery shopping.

Phew. And we're ready to do it all over again tomorrow. Wheeeee!

My Week in iPhone Pics

Can someone please explain to me how tomorrow is Monday already?! I've been thoroughly enjoying a weekend of sweatpants and laundry folding, book reading and nail painting. But this news that tomorrow starts a new week? Kinda putting a damper on my weekend fun.

Anyways, here's a look back at last week. I'm going to try to make this Sunday afternoon last as long as possible!

On Monday I indulged in a little left-over birthday cake. Then we went to my brother's house, where the cousins always have a good time playing. This time, they even shared a chair!

Tuesday Ellie showed the world how cool it is to eat breakfast in your underwear. This was after I actually took the time to dry my hair AND put on make-up.....it's amazing what those few extra minutes of self-care did for my attitude!

Wednesday I finally got to break out the new Toms I got for Christmas. Elliott delicately sipped her bath water (gross!) and spit it back out.

Thursday Ellie loved playing with the sit n spin that she got for her birthday, and we all enjoyed Panda Express for dinner. Yum!

Friday was Elliott's 2 year check up at the doctor's office.....she was a champ for her shots, so of course we headed to target for some treats! I also got a much needed girl's night on Friday night. My husband kept me giggling with silly texts like this one while I was out.

How was your week? I know that the weekend is coming to a close, but I'm just not ready for another week to start yet! I would love one more day of lounging around the house....but I know that it's back to reality tomorrow!

My Week in iPhone Pics

I have felt like a totally scatter-brained blogger lately! I'm so sorry if you've emailed me, or just not seen many comments from me. It seems like when I get a chance, I'll whip out a few posts, and then I don't even look at my computer for days on end! I've been super busy, but hopefully blogging and connecting with all of my bloggy friends will make it back onto my to-do list soon!!

All in all, we had a pretty good week! Every evening of mine has been spent crafting up a storm for Etsy orders, and to get ready for someone's 2nd Birthday party.....which is in less than a week!! Seriously, you know this week is going to be full of my tears, reminiscing, and taking trips down memory lane. At the end of the week I'm going to have a two year old!?! Hold me!

I'm going to try and share a lot of iPhone pics on here again, like I used to! 

It's so fun......cell phone pictures are such a big part of my life, as silly as that sounds ;) 

I always always have my phone with me, so some moments are best captured with it! I'm just learning how to use templates in Photoshop, and I'm testing them out today 

(because obviously I need all the practice I can get! Ha!)

 Elliott is too cool for school......that's why I like to copy her and we wear matching socks ;)

 I ordered myself some leopard-print-sequined Sperry's as a belated Christmas present.....a little daring for my wardrobe, but I love them! Scott and I were entirely too amused by Ellie's adorable Happy Meal French Fries. And, Ellie's bed is getting a little crowded these days!

 Scott and Elliott couldn't be any cuter during pre-dinner playtime......and I'll leave you with E's new "Cheese face". Love.

My Week in iPhone Pics

With my new iPhone came an awesome new feature: Photo Stream. 

This one feature alone makes my life SO much easier! Anytime I snap a photo with my phone, it automatically saves it to my computer and iPad too! I can't tell you how happy it makes me when I open up the folder on my computer to look through my iPhone photos (no more e-mailing dozens of photos to myself each week!). Seriously, add it to the long long list of why you need an iPhone.

Moving right along....this week was kind of a crazy blur! I came back from vacation, only to put in a three day work week and get ready for the Holidays! 

Working three days is really nothing when you know you have a five day weekend ahead of you, that's for sure! Those days flew by and I'm thoroughly enjoying this long weekend with my family and friends!

Coming home from vacation: Popping bubble-wrap, new Target Red Debit Card!!, I missed my puppy, 

bath time, Won't give up her "headphones", everything is a "bed", Christmas decorations!!, 

Broken dishwasher :(, Potty training....

Ellie and I were taking silly pictures......and then she got a little crazy!

More potty training, eating nachos on the floor for breakfast, SNOW!, Classic Christmas movies, silly text messages, BREAKING DAWN (with alcohol!), Cutie trying on a new hat, Uncle Bubba with his girls, pretend binkie

Saving the toilet paper, tutu making, playing peek-a-boo is funny!, rainy days, silly sleeper, 22 month treats, ready for bed, helping make apple pie, "coloring".

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and are getting to spend this weekend with friends and loved ones!

I'm counting my blessings, and letting the spirit of Thanksgiving linger in my life......as it should.

A Wedding Weekend via iPhone Pics

I'm crying right now.

We went on a fabulous little vacation to Florida last weekend to see one of Scott's best friends get married. While it was a destination wedding, and far more expensive than we could afford, we decided to go for it.
To make it a real vacation, and just relax and enjoy ourselves.
And that's we did. I took my old camera with us, because I didn't want to travel with my nice camera.
I checked the battery before we left, and made sure that I had plenty of space on my memory cards.
And wouldn't you know it, I didn't get a single picture on that camera while we were in Florida?!
It wasn't for lack of trying.......my camera is just broken :(
I'm not quite sure what I happened yet, but what I do know is that I took about 200 pictures.......all of which show up on the card and my computer as a solid black photo. BUMMER!

So, what pictures I do have from our vacation are from my iPhone. Now, I managed to capture quite a bit on my iPhone, and I cherish these pictures, but they're just not the same, ya know? But they will have to do!

Oh, and after uploading them all, I realized there is a LOT of pictures. A lot. So, you're welcome.

 One last trip to the beach before flying home.

 It wasn't the cleanest beach, but I'm still in awe over how clear and warm the water was. I loved it almost as much as Ellie did!

Silly antics.....this little girl did really great flying home....even with lots of delays.
She deserves a medal or something. I'm just counting my blessings ;)
