Wee Bit of Me Wednesday

{one} what profession have you always admired?Waiters/Waitresses. I swear, that is one job that I just don't know if I could handle! Oh, and being the President. I often find it easy to criticize him, but I would never want that kind of responsibility.



{two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today?Ummm....that's a tough question! How about "Settling for Perfection". Sometimes I feel like I've given up on some of my dreams (as far as career, etc) and others may think that I've "settled" to be a part-tim receptionist and full-time mom, but I think that where I'm at in life is perfect for me right now! 
{three} how far do you commute to work?10 miles, 3 DAYS A WEEK!! (this was 4 days a week, until very recently.....I'm loving my new schedule!)

{four} are your earlobes attached or detached?Detached.
 
{five} do you eat the unpopped kernels of popcorn at the bottom of the bag?Nope.
 
{six} what is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?Um, probably this last weekend.....Scott gave me a T-shirt that had handprints all over it and it read "Best Mom Hands Down". Seriously. I love him, but I cannot wait until Ellie is old enough to take over the gift-giving on Mother's Day!


{seven} what is one tv show that you wish hadn’t been cancelled?7th Heaven. It was my favorite all through high school, and I still love to watch the reruns :)

{eight} what is something that you are saving money for right now?Mmmm....summer. It's going to be rough for us financially until September, so we're trying to be good and save up now!

{nine} what hobby would you like to take up?I'm always working on hobbies.....the two that I would like to be better at or devote more time to would be photography and scrapbooking.

{ten} how many times a year do you get really dressed up?None :( The last time I really got dressed up was for our wedding!! I have always wanted to go to a military ball with Scott, just to have a reason to wear a fancy dress again!

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?Nope. I'm not that scared of that happening....now ask me about escalators and that's a whole other story!! 

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?No, but I think that would be so fun! 

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?Ummm....no. 

{four} do you have any food allergies?Nope. 

{five} do you know how to sew?No. I really wish I did, though! I love all sorts of crafts, and knowing how to sew (or at least stitch something) would come in handy sometimes! 

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?No. I had to get a job when I was 13 if I wanted to buy anything....rough times, I know ;) 

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?Usually once a week. I miss my SUV, but not when it comes to filling up! 

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?Happily, no! 

{nine} have you ever been robbed?My truck was broken into once. I guess technically it was my fault because I left the window cracked. But I was still devastated, and I wanted to have the police take the fingerprints from the window that they touched, but I didn't even call. They stole my Bible and my worship CDs......so maybe it would do them some good :) 

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?I guess it would be more of a lack of haircut.....I was about 12. And anyone that knew me then or has seen pictures would know what I'm talking about! Happy Wednesday y'all! ~Amanda

Wednesday, Wednesday

So I wasn't really into the vlog thing today.....sorry!I just didn't think you all wanted to see me hold up pictures to the screen (again) of me 10 years ago in a prom dress. Maybe I'll write up a little post to share with you what life was like when I was 16. AND, I have a super cute video of Ellie, so I'll put that up later. Okay? For now, here's just a Wee Bit of Me :) {one} how often do you do laundry?Once a week. I thought with having a kid I would do it more often, but once I week I do 2-3 loads. Not bad at all! (I should probably also say that I totally overstuff my washer.....it's probably not good for it at all. Hmm.) And, I wash diapers 2-3 times a week, but I don't really count that as laundry. It's really not a chore to wash the diapers.

{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?All of them. Seriously, I love choc. chip, snickerdoodles, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin. Do I need to go on?!

{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 per month?Quit! I'd finally be able to be a stay at home mom!!



{four} what was/is your favorite subject in school?English was my favorite in high school. In college I loved all of my speech and hearing science classes! Love! 
{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?No way! I'm not even sure I would want to try that. I'm kind of a baby sometimes.

{six} what was your high school mascot?We were the Bruins. It was a bear, I guess. 
{seven} if you had the chance to go into space, would you?Hmm, maybe. I don't think that would be as scary as the hot air balloon ride, actually! 
{eight} how often do you go dancing?Never. I'm a terrible dancer, so it's not fun for me! Although, Scott and I get down with the kinect every once in a while.

{nine} would you rather drive or fly?I love to fly! I don't feel like a trip is a real vacation unless I get to fly.... 
{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?No I've never been caught. I've re-gifted before, but not in a bad way. I like to keep it classy, er, as classy as re-gifting can be!

Wee Bit of Me Wednesdays

{one} if you won a trip to Disneyland/world, who would you take with you?

Scott and Ellie, of course! I'm dying to go back there and I cannot wait until Ellie is old enough to enjoy it!

{two} when was the last time you listened to a CD?Yesterday. I'm so not tech-savvy, and although I have an iphone and a car that picks it up wirelessly, I haven't updated my music on it in forever.....so I still buy CDs. I was listening to Taylor Swift, by the way :)

{three} what spice/seasoning is your favorite?Hmmm....I really don't use a lot of spices because I'm just not very adventurous in the kitchen. But, I do love experimenting with cinnamon! And, if I grill meat I love Lawry's Seasoning Salt.

{four} if you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?Ummm.....country? or something like matchbox 20 or lifehouse I guess.

{five} if you could have personally witnessed one historical event, which one would it be?Probably Jesus's birth....that would be pretty amazing to witness, don't you think?!

{six} if you could go back to school, what would you study?Well, I would either go back and get the Master's degree that I intended to get (to become an SLP), or get my teaching certificate. And I will do one of those things......someday :)

{seven} if you could go to one sporting event, all expenses paid, which one would you see?The Super Bowl. Or the Olympics. Tough choice!

{eight} do you drive an automatic or a manual?I drive an automatic.....I gave up my manual when I got pregnant.....and I miss it!

{nine} are you comfortable speaking in front of people?As I get older, I get better at this. It's not something I enjoy per say, but I can get the job done if and when it's a necessity.

{ten} have you ever experienced an earthquake?Yes. A couple when I was little and living in California (although I don't remember much of those), and one I distinctly remember when I was in high school. Scary stuff!

Wee Bit of Me Wednesday (link up)

It's been a crazy week already, and it's only Wednesday!! Sheesh!I wanted to do something fun and different today, but still get some therapy blogging in.I found this fun link up at My Leigh Ashley Blog, and it looked like fun. If you haven't seen this blog yet, go check it out! Leigh seems so very sweet, and she's got an awesome store and she blogs about all sorts of fun stuff. So here goes.....my first Wee Bit of Me Wednesday post :) {one} do you wear holey jeans? if so, do you buy them that way?I prefer not to. If my favorite jeans suddenly got a hole in them, I'd probably keep wearing them. I don't buy them that way because I've gotten my toe stuck in a hole once trying them on. Awkward, I know! {two} do you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night?Usually. If I don't, it's my own darn fault for going to bed too late! I've been blessed with a baby who sleeps well (at night, anyway) and I try my best to take advantage of that! {three} what’s your favorite way to eat an oreo?Honestly, I don't think there's a wrong way to eat an oreo! I mean, really?! Haha! I'm usually not a dunker because I just don't drink milk very often, but I'm not picky about my sweets! {four} do you wear shoes in your house?Absolutely not! Our carpets were terrible when we moved into our house, but I still just don't feel comfortable if I'm wearing shoes. I might keep them on if I'm just running in real quick, but when I get home the first thing I do is take my shoes off! {five} who would you call first if you won the lottery?Scott. But I guess you have to actually buy a ticket if you're trying to win?! Haha I have never bought a lottery ticket. Ever. {six} have you ever been in a food fight?Yes, just once (I think). We had a cake fight at my 16th birthday party. And then I cleaned off in the ocean (after I got thrown in...boo).  {seven} do you snore?Nope. At least I like to think that I don't.... {eight} do you know how fast you type?Pretty fast! I haven't tested myself lately, but I think I'm a decent typist. {nine} can you do a headstand (without using a wall)?No. I don't think I can even do a headstand with a wall, let alone without one! {ten} how do you like your popcorn?Mmmmm I love ANY kind of popcorn. Literally. My favorite is homestyle (buttery and salty, it's the best!) or movie theater popcorn, but I also love kettle corn, carmel corn, whatever!
