On the night before Ellie's 2nd birthday, the urge to get her ears pierced got the best of me. I had been wanting to do it for quite some time, but I thought that it was too late. With a little urging from my best friend, and Scott not completely putting his foot down on the subject, I acted on a whim. Almost as soon as Ellie's guests had left her party (I promise I'll post pictures of that tomorrow.....a lot of pictures), we packed up and headed to the mall. The experience was actually really nice, and Ellie did great! She only cried for a few seconds, and then she was fine. Cleaning her ears has been a breeze, and she is SO proud of her earrings. She tells me all the time.
This bath started off very serious, but quickly turned silly.
Two year olds are silly.
This last photo is my favorite, so I'm choosing to show it off this week with And Then, She Snapped.

sooo cute!
These pictures are beautiful, black and white pictures are my favorite!! So happy I came across your blog, new follower :)
The earrings are adorable! My mother in-law wants to take my daughter so bad to get hers done but I kind of want to wait until Aubs requests them. I really have no really good reason behind it except for that's what my Mom did with me.
What a cutie! Glad she handled the piercings like a trooper!
aw big girl. so cute.
those are great pictures. clean and classic.
She looks so beautiful! We decided to wait to pierce Hannah's ears, but I still think toddlers with earrings are so adorable. And I still can't believe that she is TWO! Wow.
Awww. Soooo sweet. Love these photos.
She really is adorable and the pictures are great. I have 2 little boys so I'll have to live vicariously through you bloggin' mamas of little girls!
Cute! I had mine done as a baby too!
Just came across your blog from "Show Off"...great pics! I love black and white photos!
I have all boys, but I decided if I ever do have a girl, I can't wait to get her ears pierced!
Was searching for my GF's blog and came across yours. Loved your thoughtful reasoning and escription having your dd's ears pierced as an infant. I don't think you were insane, but a smart mommy for doing it now and following your mommy intuition and heritage doing it when mommy can care for them. Babies and little girls with pierced ears celebrates their femininity and femaleness.
Our ped gave me some suggestions for moms having their infant dd's ears pierced as well as for "Tips for moms having their dd's ears
pierced/Care of Newly Pierced Ears."
If any other moms thinking about it and want to do it now or would like them, write me an e-mail.
