Seriously, our house stinks! It's been a (long) weekend already full of illness in our house, and this stench is a product of that. My poor husband and daughter have been vomitting, drooling, pooping, coughing, and diarrhea-ing all over the place! Sorry for the lack of modesty in this post, but after days of playing nurse for a sad, whiney husband and a cranky, not-quite-sure-what's-wrong-with-her baby I just don't have the energy or creativity for modesty. Here's exactly what I've been dealing with:
I'm not sure what it is about men when they get sick, but wouldn't you agree that they kinda just turn into little babies? I mean, I know he doesn't feel good and all, but is the whiney voice really necessary?? I'm trying to help you, and it's not like I'm the one who made you sick! Sheesh!
And poor Elliott, I really don't know what's going on with her. I feel like her symptoms change every hour, and they are the same symptoms that could mean cold, flu, teething, or just a growth spurt. Really, how do you tell the difference?! I'm not super concerned because I think she's fine, I'm just a little lost as to how to help her!
I feel bad for them, but I also feel bad for me! I'm pretty sure that if and when I get sick, I won't be treated the way they have been treated this week. Nope, I'm pretty sure I will still have to wake up with baby, do the dishes, keep up on the laundry.....ugh the list goes on. Anyways, I haven't even gotten to the worst of it all. This was the (low) highlight of our holiday weekend:
Yes that's poop! Everywhere! (and yes, I stopped to take pictures. I figured if I had to find a way to clean up this baby, her clothes, and her bed, I wanted it documented for all to see) It was one of those times where I seriously considered cutting the onesie to get it off of her, and just trashing the onesie and the pajamas altogether! Alas, I salvaged them, and the sheets are fine, too!
The good new is, I think they're both on the mend. The bad news is, I'm pretty sure Scott got most of his family (and some of mine) sick!! I feel so bad about that. I guess I'm lucky I never caught the bug (knocking vigorously on wood)!
