Weigh-in Wednesday: Week 1

Well, here we are! Our first week of "weighing-in".
It hasn't been a full week since I started my diet and exercise changes, but it's Wednesday, and we have to start these weigh-ins sometime!
So, let's get down to it!

Each week I'm going to share with you my ups and downs from the current week, my current weight and any other progress notes, and some words of wisdom.
Then, it's your turn to link up and share with everyone else your ups and downs, current weight (if you want to) and other progress notes, and words of wisdom for that week's topic.

The rules for linking up are simple.......write your blog post, and be sure to include my button (grab the link below). Then, head back here and link your post at the bottom of this one!
It's easy, and I'm not too picky on what you post about......I want to hear YOUR thoughts on fitness, diet, exercise, and healthy living!
I'll have a different "topic of interest" each week, but you can really write about whatever you feel like writing and sharing.

Okay, on to the good stuff!

Positive: Starting a new diet regimen!
Negative: I have yet to work out this week. Bummer.
Starting weight: 144.8
Current weight: 142.4 (what?! if that's not motivating, I don't know what is!!)
This week's topic: Fad Diets

C'mon, I'm doing SLIM FAST!
How much more Fad Diet can you get, right?!
I know some of you have opinions about this, so let's hear it!

I'm choosing to use Slim Fast to help me get a handle on my metabolism and eating habits in general. I don't plan on using it forever (except maybe the yummy chocolate and peanut butter snack bars.....they are delicious!), but it's what I'm doing right now. I also don't believe that these diets are for everyone. I believe that they can be easily abused and used as a crutch. But, I also believe that each person has to make their own choices as to how to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. For me, Slim Fast is way healthier than my eating habits to date......so I'm starting small, and in time I will wean myself off of this "crutch".
Now, it's your turn! Fad Diets: love 'em of hate 'em?!

Write your post, grab the button below, and link up!

I don't have a blog, so I'm leaving a comment instead :) Let me just start with saying, Great Job!!!! You're absolutely right that fad diets aren't for everyone and they won't work long term, but they're a great place to start! I'm doing the 400 Calorie Fix. It's an awesome one. You count calories, which is a pain, but it teaches long term healthy eating which is the best way to make a diet work (in my experience). Slim Fast is a great one too and they have some delicious stuff! Good luck and keep up the awesome work!

YAY! I linked up! :)
You're doing an amazing job and should be so proud! Slim Fast worked wonders for my dad back in the day and I think diets like that are amazing if it works for you. You can't beat it, and the bars are so yummy.
I hope you find a workout routine that you love. I run but let me tell you I'm not the fastest or the best runner out there but I'm getting better. Give it a try, you might love it.
